O.J. Simpson is testifying today in an effort to get his conviction for a 2008 armed robbery — and the 9- to 33-year prison sentence it carried — thrown out because of allegedly faulty representation by his defense lawyer. Simpson’s chances are not good: “Less than one percent of the people who file these succeed,” Loyola University law professor Laurie Levenson tells NBC News. “Everybody sitting in prison wants out, and this is how they try to get out.” It is, however, a slightly more viable means of escape than eating your way out of prison.
