Thanks to Mayor Bloomberg’s pipe dream that no one smoke, ever, addicts (and “only when I drink”-ers) are forced to mortgage their homes to buy a pack or otherwise search for shady bodegas that forgo the mandatory state taxes. But there’s a catch according to New York AG Eric Schneiderman, whose recent bust of a tobacco-smuggling ring, which “flooded the market with more than 1 million cartons of tax-free cigarettes,” includes the off-putting detail that “some members of the group may have ties to Hamas and Hezbollah.” Time to just quit.
