
One of the things standing in the way of the new fleet of Nissan NV200 minivans known as the “taxi of tomorrow” is the fact that none of them are hybrids, as required by city law. So on Thursday, the Taxi and Limousine Commission changed the rules a bit: “Under the new rules, cab operators would be able to purchase a hybrid alternative to the Nissan NV200 minivan cab — at least until Nissan comes out with a hybrid version of the minivan.” So now all that’s holding it up are the lawsuits.
