Construction Equipment Neither Subtle Nor Effective Way to Rob a Bank

A creative but ultimately misguided thief in Queens stole a backhoe from a nearby construction site, drove it to a Chase branch, knocked down the wall, and dragged out an ATM, only to leave with no cash. Earlier this week, “Two men backed up a tow truck to a TD Bank lobby and tried to take an ATM, but the chain from the truck broke and they fled.” Back to the drawing board.
