It is pretty well established at this point that putting your criminal exploits on Facebook is a great way to get caught. But that gets more complicated when said exploits included a terribly photogenic marriage proposal at Walt Disney World. According to the New York Times, a couple accused of organizing a fraud scheme in which she allegedly stole financial information from patients at her job in a doctor’s office and funneled the money to his bank account, used the funds to run off and get storybook engaged: “The couple left a trail of their spending in photographs on Facebook. One shows them in a happy embrace while standing in front of the castle lighted with pink lights. Another shows a Cinderella cake etched with the words ‘Will you marry me?’ sitting next to a glass slipper.” Hey, it beats the photos of guns and assaults that usually get people busted online.
