A woman had to be rescued from the East River early Saturday morning after she tried to climb down a twenty-foot seawall in pursuit of her phone, which she had dropped. She “ended up falling most of the way” and broke her leg on a jagged boulder, reports the New York Post. Luckily, a passerby noticed her and alerted a nearby Gracie Mansion police officer, who threw her a life preserver and called the FDNY to pull her out. There’s no official word on whether the device she was trying to get back also broke when it fell, but we’re assuming it did. Doing this is almost never worth it.
