The commute from Sunset Park and Bay Ridge to Manhattan seemed like it would get a lot worse with R-train service between Brooklyn and Manhattan slated to go dark for more than a year. However, the Post reports that starting next week there will be ferry service from the Brooklyn Army Terminal, and the trip may actually get faster: “The ride will cost $2 and take commuters to Wall Street in a 15-minute trip, before heading up the East River to 34th Street.” Sure beats a long, local haul on the R.
