The Humane Society of the United States declared 37-year-old primate Brent, who “paints only with his tongue,” the winner of its Chimpanzee Art Contest, which exists. (The work of the runners-up looks almost identical but a little bit less nice. The animals aren’t into realism.) Brent’s home, Louisiana’s Chimp Haven, will take the $10,000 prize; as for the artist, a spokesperson said, “I think he’s asleep.”
