Today in particularly brutal crimes: A 25-year-old named Manuel Campoverde, killed by a hit-and-run driver in Queens early Monday morning, was found stripped down to just his underwear, his siblings say, without his wallet or cell phone. “It appears to them that the driver hit him, dragged him, and then someone robbed him,” WABC reported. The New York Daily News added the detail that Campoverde apparently passed out while drunk and was lying in the eastbound lane of 34th Avenue when he was hit. This story is just awful all around.
