Four Creepy Lines From the Children’s Book Left Menacingly Near Famke Janssen’s Bed

Yeah, creepy.

X-Men actress Famke Janssen has reported a very bizarre home invasion in which a children’s book appeared mysteriously next to her bed in her Greenwich Village apartment. Weird, sure, but it doesn’t seem very alarming until you take a look at the book — The Lonely Doll from 1957, about a lonely doll making friends with two bears (“Big Bear” and “Little Bear”). Taking these excerpts into account, the gesture becomes vaguely threatening and extremely creepy:

4. Once there was a little doll. Her name was Edith. She lived in a nice house and had everything she needed except somebody to play with. She was very lonely!

3. Every night when she said her prayers she pleaded, “Please, please, send me some friends.”

2. “Just wait and see what fun we’ll have!” Little Bear whispered in Edith’s ear.

1. From then on Edith was never lonely again.

We would call the police, too, and we are not a six-foot-tall famous actress.
