Chris Christie Cuts to the Chase in Fighting New Jersey Gay Marriage

As expected, the administration of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie on Monday appealed a Superior Court judge’s ruling that gay marriage was legal in the state under a 2006 law guaranteeing equal rights for gay couples. Obviously, even though it was expected, this move is not what gay marriage supporters would have liked from the potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate. But at least he’s cutting to the chase and bringing the question directly to the state’s highest court. “We know it’s going there so there should be no delay,” State Senate President Stephen Sweeney told the Associated Press. “By Oct. 21st, people should know, yes or no.”
