The NYPD’s Internet rules remind officers “that activities on personal social media sites may be used against them to undermine their credibility as members of the department.” As such, using photos featuring the department uniform on dating profiles — there is apparently a site called meetsinglepoliceofficers.com — is not allowed, the New York Post reports. (Maybe all of the recent rape charges have something to do with it.) An internal investigation could even result in firings, according to the tabloid, which found one officer whose uniformed pics on OkCupid included captions like “I promise, I’m not a bad guy” and “I like girls who have some respect for themselves.” Sounds like a real catch.
