Who Left Famke Janssen’s To-Do List in The Lonely Doll?

The NYPD already cast doubt on Famke Janssen’s claim that someone deposited the mildly creepy 1957 children’s book The Lonely Doll in her bedroom when they revealed that there’s “nobody suspicious” on surveillance footage from her apartment. Janssen appears convinced that someone broke into her home (and thus won’t face charges for filing a false report), but detectives reportedly think the book belongs to the actress because there was a to-do list inside with her name on it. It’s unclear why someone would sign a note to themselves, and context is important here. What if one of the to-dos is “watch Famke while she sleeps”?
