What John Liu describes as his “secret weapon” in the mayoral race wasn’t really a secret, and doesn’t appear to be a very effective weapon. Liu’s marital status is well known, but for some reason his wife Jenny Liu decided to make her first campaign appearance on Wednesday. She made quite the impression at Manhattan’s Open Door Senior Citizen Center, but with her husband polling at 4 percent, Ms. Liu probably won’t be able to turn things around in the six days before the primary. On the other hand, she’s being way more helpful than Silda Spitzer, who’s only appeared in nasty Post headlines.
