Alleged sexual harasser and one-time Brooklyn Democratic Party boss Vito Lopez had one more shot at staying in New York politics after he resigned from the State Assembly in disgrace: He would run for City Council, representing Bushwick. On Monday, he lost that bid, which was pretty clumsy from the start. Antonio Reynoso, chief of staff of Councilmember Diana Reyna, beat Lopez for the candidacy, with 49 percent of the votes to 37 percent (there was no Republican primary). So now Lopez can devote his time to whatever it is he does when he’s not in public office.
