
While only fourteen percent of Americans and zero percent of his freshman-year roommates view Ted Cruz favorably right now, the hardcore conservatives who showed up for this year’s Value Voters Summit still want to elect him president in 2016. The Texas senator won the Family Research Council-sponsored conference’s Saturday straw poll with 42 percent, beating out neurosurgeon and Fox News personality Dr. Ben Carson and Rick Santorum (who each got thirteen percent), as well as Rand Paul (six percent) and Marco Rubio (five percent.) We can’t wait to see what Cruz’s numbers look like after he manages to single-handedly overturn Obamacare.
