A real-life nightmare is about to end for one Derrick Deacon, a Jamaican national convicted for a Brooklyn murder he didn’t commit, who did 24 years in prison before a jury in a retrial found him not guilty on Monday. “There was never a shred of evidence against Derrick Deacon,” the jury foreperson told the New York Daily News, after the nine-minute deliberation that cleared him. The most frustrating part: The FBI informant whose information cleared Deacon first came forward with it in 2001.
