George H.W. Bush stepped into the Twittersphere on Tuesday, though his footwear while doing so is still a mystery. His one and only tweet consists of a few kind words about Nelson Mandela, which is nice enough, but all anyone really wants to know about is his crazy socks. The White House asked him to start a #SocksOfTheDay hashtag, and Twitchy tracked down all scads of people clamoring for shots of the presidential undergarments. Those may be forthcoming, but it’s kind of an awkward transition from the seminal Mandela message.
