What do you get when you mix basketball, Brooklyn gentrification, and the future of media? Bizarrely, the answer is a GQ-branded barber shop in the Nets’ Barclays Center. The magazine will open its partnership with the hip Fellow Barber in the arena’s main concourse area later this week, because everyone needs to diversify. “And what better place than Brooklyn, one of the coolest cities on the planet, to launch this venture,” said GQ publisher Chris Mitchell in the announcement. Prices will vary from $10 for a cleanup and $15 for a beard trim to $75 for a shave and cut. Nets point guard Deron Williams, he of that hairline, will sit for the inaugural service on Friday, as his team continues to stay out of last place in the East.
