Prosecutors charging 29-year-old Ross Ulbricht (a.k.a. Dread Pirate Roberts) with operating the online drug marketplace Silkroad.com needed to convince a grand jury in New York that they had enough of a case to bring him to trial. And on Tuesday, they did, scoring an indictment on charges of narcotics conspiracy, conspiracy to commit computer hacking, and money laundering conspiracy, and adding a new charge — engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise — which itself carries a minimum sentence of twenty years in prison. Ulbricht denies he did anything wrong and plans to plead not guilty.
