A Marine Did Some Partying During Obama’s Trip, Too

THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS - MARCH 25: U.S. President Barack Obama speaks at the closing session of the 2014 Nuclear Security Summit on March 25, 2014 in The Hague, Netherlands. Leaders from around the world have come to discuss matters related to international nuclear security, though the summit is overshadowed by recent events in Ukraine. Noordwijk, Netherlands was the place to be last weekend for Americans looking to have a good time, even if it meant jeopardizing national security. The night before three Secret Service agents were sent home after one was found unconscious in a hotel hallway, a U.S. Marine was at a local club, passing around his government security badge and telling the locals about preparations for President Obama’s visit. Corporal Korey Nathan Pritchett, who was on temporary assignment for the nuclear security summit at The Hague, is being investigated by the Marines after witnesses told a Dutch paper that he talked about being a “bullet catcher” tasked with protecting the president. Pritchett is still on duty, but now that the Washington Post has published a photo of a partygoer holding his badge, he probably won’t be for long.
