Stedmund Dawson, a 58-year-old from Yonkers, opened the doors at a Bronx stop on the D line this morning, but never closed them. After the motorman found him unconscious, Dawson was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the Daily News reports in the day’s most tragic story from underground.
