There Are, Or Were, No Cameras in the World Trade Center

Since 16-year-old Justin Casquejo managed to sneak onto the top of the World Trade Center on Sunday, it’s obvious that there are multiple security issues at the site. Now the Post is highlighting one of them: There isn’t a single working surveillance camera inside the tower. A source said 1 World Trade Center’s video system “won’t be operational until the building opens later this year.” Casquejo was only captured by a perimeter camera as he entered through a hole in the fence along Church Street, and guards who were supposed to be monitoring the feed didn’t spot him. It’s not the kind of thing you want to broadcast, but presumably they’ve beefed up security since being outsmarted by a teenager.
