Court Reporter Hated His Job So Much, He Just Wrote ‘I Hate My Job’ Over and Over

A court stenographer is in a semi-unique position to voice his dissatisfaction with the task at hand — only later will anyone notice. Since fired, Daniel Kochanski allegedly let the record show that he really did not want to be there, writing “I hate my job, I hate my job” repeatedly, plus some assorted “gibberish,” the New York Post reports. The disgruntled behavior affected about 30 cases, including a high-profile hit-man-for-hire plot, with a rep for the Center for Appellate Litigation telling the tabloid, “I never had a situation where a single court reporter was responsible for so much damage.” (Law & Order episode, please?) Other jobs in which this could be an issue: children’s-birthday-cake icing specialist, skywriter, newspaper editor
