A 15-year-old Muslim girl, whose name is being withheld, told WABC that she was riding a crowded Q88 bus in Flushing on Tuesday morning when a middle-aged white man standing next to her pushed her, repeatedly spat on her, threatened to kill her, and called her a “terrorist,” apparently because she was wearing a headscarf. Making the girl’s story even more awful is the fact that none of her fellow passengers tried to help her. In fact, she said, “They were laughing.” Meanwhile, the NYPD, which is treating the incident as a hate crime, is currently looking for the guy, who got off at Queens College.
