DNAinfo reports that an unnamed man was killed in the Bronx on Wednesday night as he rode atop — or “subway-surfed” on — a northbound 6 train. The 45-year-old, who had previously been spotted walking in between cars, had climbed onto the train’s roof by the time it reached a stretch of elevated track in between the Whitlock Avenue station and the Elder Avenue station. After hitting his head on “a piece of overhanging subway infrastructure,” he died at the scene. “Subway-surfing is simply one of the dumbest things you can do,” MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz said on Thursday. “Don’t do it.” See last year’s pair of similar incidents for confirmation.
