Vladimir Putin was right to assume, when asked if Barack Obama would rescue him in a hypothetical water-based emergency, that the U.S. president is “a decent and quite courageous person,” so he’d probably do it despite lingering geopolitical tensions. “I’d like to think if anyone were out there drowning, I’d save them,” confirmed Obama, who is not outwardly a sociopath. “I used to be a pretty good swimmer, I grew up in Hawaii.” So Putin shouldn’t feel special.
