“I had no real concept of what the Hamptons was all about until I came out” in 1991, Mayor de Blasio’s NYPD commissioner told Dan’s Papers. “All the amenities here, it just bowled me over.” After that, he was hooked — Bratton explained that he and his wife are out east “almost every weekend year-round.” Hey, the guy’s got to keep his morale up, down-to-earth mayor or no.
