Congressional candidate Keith Crisco, a North Carolina businessman and former secretary of commerce, died at his home in Asheboro today after a fall, the local Courier-Tribune reports. He was 71 years old. Crisco was trailing American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken by 369 votes in a too-close-to-call Democratic primary race following a vote last Tuesday, and was considering asking for a recount once the final tally was authorized. Aiken will now likely face Republican Representative Renee Ellmers in the general election. Keep your Idol conspiracies to yourself. It’s too soon.
