Eleven students from Coney Island’s Brooklyn Dreams Charter School were hospitalized on Tuesday morning after “one or two” of their classmates set off a smoke-bomb-style firecracker on the way to school. While most of the injuries were limited to watery eyes and scratchy throats, CBS News reports that one child (possibly the one responsible for the explosion) was seriously hurt. Save it for the outdoors, kids. Or at least wait until the Fourth of July, when everyone is at least more prepared for this kind of thing.
