Officials told DNAinfo that the accident happened near West 158th Street at 2:3o p.m. on Thursday. A passenger on the Empire Service train tweeted that the conductor honked at the unidentified victim, who was walking his bike near the track, but the warning was “to no avail.” Amtrak service was shut down for about an hour while police investigated the death.
