New York area airports — including JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark — will join the 21st century this fall with the addition of free Wi-Fi. Of course, there’s a catch: Under the deal the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey approved on Wednesday, the internet provider Boingo Wireless will allow just 30 minutes of free access. Then, users can pay $7.95 for a day pass of unlimited data, $9.95 for a monthly pass, or resume waiting for their flight in what feels like some third-world country.
