On Sunday morning, Mary Downey, a 22-year-old Irish immigrant living in the Bronx, stumbled off the platform at a Times Square subway station and had three trains pass over her before a conductor spotted her waving for help. It appears she survived by rolling into the space between the tracks and the platform, and a friend says she suffered only a fractured shoulder. It looks like her luck has finally run out though, as news of her allegedly drunken escapade is featured on the cover of today’s New York Post.
