Clown Haunts Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery

Over the last week or so, someone dressed up as a clown has been hanging around Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery. Several supposedly uninvolved “tipsters” have forwarded photos of this person to Gothamist and other publications, suggesting that he or she might be, as the Brooklyn Eagle put it, participating in a “misguided attempt at performance art or a publicity stunt.” (“Probably some guy trying to make a name for himself,” a member of the 478-acre space’s security staff observed.) In addition to being pretty disrespectful to people mourning at Green-Wood, the costume’s presence makes the place way creepier than it needs to be, because there’s nothing scarier than a clown.
