Trayvon Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, reached out to the family of Michael Brown on Monday night, writing in an open letter published in Time magazine that “neither of their lives shall be in vain.” Fulton names other young victims of “senseless gun violence,” including those killed in Sandy Hook and Aurora, and says that the parents of slain children “will no longer be ignored. We will bond, continue our fights for justice, and make them remember our children in an appropriate light.” She also offers advice on handling the allegations emerging about Brown. “Honor your son and his life, not the circumstances of his alleged transgressions,” Brown writes. “I have always said that Trayvon was not perfect. But no one will ever convince me that my son deserved to be stalked and murdered. No one can convince you that Michael deserved to be executed.” Read the entire letter here.
