Ramsey Orta, the 22-year-old who taped the police chokehold that killed Eric Garner on Staten Island, was busted over the weekend on gun charges. Now his wife, Chrissie Ortiz, who said her husband’s arrest was a setup, has been picked up on a misdemeanor assault charge for allegedly fighting with a woman outside a local store. It’s been a long, hard few weeks for everyone involved, but this is not going to help quell community tensions.
