Thirteen months (forever) ago, the MTA’s Montague Tunnel closed for some overdue Hurricane Sandy repairs, destroying the commutes of people who relied on the R train to ferry them between Brooklyn Heights and Park Slope and Lower Manhattan. (It’s been running in two sections, from Forest Hills–71st Street to Whitehall Street and from Court Street to Bay Ridge–95th Street, since then.) But, on Friday, MTA “sources” told the Post that the R will on Monday resume running on the East River, just as God intended.
