Hollywood So Out of Ideas It’s Now Turning to Quora Threads for Inspiration

Hollywood, fresh out of ideas since the Great Idea Drought of 1980, has been forced to systematically turn to online outlets for fresh content. Tumblrs become movies, Harry Styles fan fiction becomes a best-selling novel, and now? A single Quora thread may become a television show.

Quora is a question-and-answer platform where users can pose questions for experts and mansplainers to answer; it’s sort of like Yahoo Answers for adults with expensive degrees who love talking about their expensive degrees and have had slightly more sex than your average high school senior.

According to Variety, one question about what a second American Civil War would look like caught the attention of Emmy-winning producer Josh Kline. In fact, he was so inspired by a detailed response posted by retired U.S. Marine Sergeant Jon Davis that he bought the rights to the answer and is working on producing a version of it for TV.

Hey, it can’t be any worse than the Grumpy Cat movie, coming to a Lifetime channel near you this holiday season!
