Robel Phillipos, Friend of Boston Marathon Bomber, Found Guilty of Lying to the FBI

A jury has found Robel Phillipos, the college friend of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, guilty of two counts of lying to investigators after he claimed he did not visit Tsarnaev’s dorm room. Phillipos was in fact present at the dorm room when some of Tsarnaev’s friends removed a backpack containing fireworks after finding out he was involved in the Boston bombing. Phillipos awaits sentencing, but each count carries a maximum penalty of eight years in prison.
