A huge swath of the internet is currently operating without ads owing to the fact that Google’s Doubleclick for Publishers is down, according to Business Insider. The problem is ongoing and could cost publishers thousands of dollars in ad revenue.
News sites like the BBC, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal make money in part by serving ads to readers using Google’s Doubleclick for Publishers platform. If those ads aren’t showing up, readers can’t click them — which could cause revenue to take a nosedive.
