
Two weeks ago, fired New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson revealed that she and entrepreneur Steve Brill are planning to launch a start-up that will only publish “one big story a year.” She shared a few more confounding details this weekend, according to Poynter. Journalists will be paid about $100,000 to write stories longer than magazine articles but shorter than books. Subscribers will then receive “one perfect whale of a story” each month. If you have an idea that can only be expressed as a novella-length article, Abramson wants to hear from you.
