A 39-year-old man who was babysitting his niece took her to the playground in Tompkins Square Park on Monday, where he was killed in a freak accident involving a tire swing. According to the New York Post, Aleim Perkins was “aggressively swinging” the tire before it hit him hard in the face. He died later of traumatic head injuries at Beth Israel.
