
If you thought you’d easily avoid the flu this year by heading to your local drugstore and waiting 30 minutes for a nervous pharmacy tech to stab a needle full of virus into your arm, think again. According to the CDC, this year’s flu shot is only 23 percent effective due to several strains of H3N2 virus that are circulating but weren’t included in the vaccine. Getting the flu shot certainly doesn’t hurt, but it’s less effective than other years — especially for people over 17. Teens, man.
