It had to happen sometime. New York City’s 12-day murder-free streak — the longest on record — ended with the death of Eric Roman, who was shot in Woodhaven on Friday morning. Roman was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries on Saturday. (The New York Post reports that no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.) Meanwhile, CBS 2 reports that “a 56-year-old man was found dead in a Kew Gardens basement with head trauma Saturday, police said. The New York City medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.” Well, it was nice while it lasted.
