Twenty-five-year-old Aaron Hernandez, a former tight end for the New England Patriots, was found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury in Massachusetts on Wednesday, after more than 35 hours of deliberation. The verdict means a mandatory sentence of life in prison — without parole — for Hernandez. Although the case involving the death of Odin Lloyd, whom prosecutors argued the defendant killed because he “spoke at a Boston bar with people Mr. Hernandez did not like,” according to the Times, is now resolved, Hernandez faces murder charges in another pending case involving a drive-by shooting in Boston.
