Senator Marco Rubio’s 2016 presidential campaign is now official, according to the Associated Press. The Florida senator held a conference call with donors this morning, telling them he is “uniquely qualified” to talk about the future of the country. Rubio will give his campaign a splashier start at an event tonight at the Freedom Tower, also known as “Miami’s Ellis Island.” He is the fourth major presidential candidate to announce — Hillary Clinton entered the race yesterday. Jeb Bush and Scott Walker — considered two of Rubio’s biggest rivals for the GOP nomination — haven’t entered the race quite yet, although they have been fund-raising like mad.
