101-Year-Old Survivor Pulled From Rubble in Nepal

A week after Nepal’s devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake claimed at least 7,200 lives, rescue workers pulled 101-year-old Funchu Tamang from his collapsed house in a village northwest of Kathmandu. Remarkably, he sustained only minor injuries and is said to be in “stable” condition at a district hospital. Another three women were rescued on Sunday as well — rare good news as officials warn that the disaster’s death toll is expected to climb “much higher.”
