A dead minke whale washed up onto Brighton Beach on Monday afternoon, according to News 12 Brooklyn. It’s unclear what caused the whale’s death, but the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation is investigating. A witness told a local Sheepshead Bay blog that it looked like the whale may have been hit by a propeller.
