President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden will both attend the funeral of Reverend Clementa Pinckney, who was killed in the Charleston church shooting last Wednesday, next Monday. Obama will also deliver the eulogy for the state senator and pastor of Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church — the second he will have delivered in a single month. It will be Obama’s first visit to Charleston since the 2008 presidential election, when he and Michelle Obama first met Pinckney. Biden last saw Pinckney, who was only 41 when he died, at a prayer breakfast last year. “He was a good man,” Biden said in a statement last week, “a man of faith, a man of service who carried forward Mother Emanuel’s legacy as a sacred place promoting freedom, equality, and justice for all.”
