Alleged Drug Dealer Specially Ordered ‘Keep Kids Drug Free’ License Plate

Two Long Island men were arrested last month for allegedly selling and delivering marijuana grown in California in New York. The 11 types of strains Brian Poole and Eric Gomez allegedly distributed included “Cheese,” “Girl Scout Cookies,” and “Death Star.” Police officers seized about $200,000 that Gomez was keeping in a child’s backpack in his Camaro. The license plate on Gomez’s BMW found by police took the strange juxtaposition between hallmarks of childhood and drug dealing in this case to dizzying new heights: He specially ordered a “Keep Kids Drug Free” license plate that read “LIFTD,” or “high; under the influence of a controlled substance.” Police did not find a “Straight Edge” T-shirt with Willie Nelson’s face on it.
